Hey guys, made a video about my shrimp tank and posted it on youtube Tell me what you think! It's quite simple, but that's because its in a public area. I'm located in the UK (That's why theres a heater, not a chiller)

P.S. I know it says arofanatics in the video but just ignore that.

huh? in the video, i verbally say that the video is for arofanatics, and it was. Thats what I'm asking the people who watch my video to ignore. Anyway, i'm done with AF. lol. most of the people there are nice, but a few bad eggs just ruin it.

you move your camera too much

by the way how big is your tank? Isee you are using sponge filter. Normally we don't use that in planted tank, the air buble create to much surface movement and drive CO2 away. However since your plant mostly moss, I guess it should be ok

    Re: My Shrimp Tank

oh, for me, i don't believe in a successful plant + shrimp tank, where both the plants and the shrimps thrive. I know its possible, but I'm not into that. When i make a tank, it's either for the shrimps or for the plants, and in this case, its for the shrimps. thats why i only have mosses and nothing else...

The mosses are for the shrimps

Although i do have like 15 different types of mosses tho. but they are all still mosses.

Oh, i have dwarf hair grass too. but that doesnt count lol.

Reason why its so heavily planted and decorated is because its in the lobby of a children's charity. So it's not exactly a pure breeding tank. And the kids love it because of its diversity, and because of the nice big deer in the middle that i made, not because of the shrimp alone. If it's my own tank it will probably have less stuff in it lol, and maybe more CRS or tiger shrimps.

so in essence, my tank is a pseudo planted tank. lol.

Sorry about the camera shaking. I'm a complete noob at photography. lol. never bothered to pick it up i guess.

Is not about shaking, you move your camera from one point to another point very fast. I haven't see what you want to show but you already move away. Sure I can still see by pausing it . anyway that comment nothing to do with the tank

Agreed about the movement part. Because it's not fantastically clear, before I can relate what you are talking about to the tank, you have already moved off.

Oh, now I see why the ignore AF part, you got banned there.

haha, yeah. i got myself banned by creating this tremendously long post aimed at silane. I knew i was gonna get banned, but I really couldn't bother with AF anymore.
feel sorry for the few nice people that are actually there, like berber.

Anyway, enough of that. About the video, sorry. I was using a flip videocam. it's really tiny, and hard to steady. I will upload another video soon. hopefully this one is better. Thanks for your honest comments ^^

haha, thanks. the stuff here is really expensive, so its quite heart pain. but when you make a tank and you know that loads of people are gonna enjoy it, it makes you feel better. 200 volunteers and 200 children come in and out of the charity, so thats a total of 400 people excluding all the working people there. The boss likes it, tells me the kids like it too lol. These are kids from poor backgrounds, and he tells me that their families will never be able to afford even a simple fish tank, so they only get to see one at the charity when they come in.

I guess ur right. part of owning a tank is having the appropriate level of photography accompany it. lol! I'll upload a new one right now. this one is only 50 seconds long.
