    Hello All
    may i know what type of thermometer you using in your tank?
    and which are the cheap & good type?

    i use a boyu digital thermometer... very cheap 8 dollars

    mine is qian hu brand....
    maybe recently weather are very hot so my temp is 30deg OMG
    with two fan also don't make any difference......

    Yeah it happen to me also temp so high... with fan also no good water keep evaporating. so now using chiller...

    wow interesting ...may i know how much your chiller cost? big or small type? got pic show me?
    but the back of my tank no more space to put a device ..... will it generate heat like a frigde?

    i bought a secondhand teco chiller, bought for 600 although the guy say that its use for 6 month i guess it more then 6mth. it abit noisy but acceptable noise and it does generate heat but then again every chiller fridge generate heat.

    OMG 600..... quite expensive hor...
    cant afford it ....so sad haha
    i don mind the noise n heat but i mind about the price haha

    I use the cheaper mecury type. Cost slightly over a dollar.

    I prefer more reliable/precise capillary ones like from Sera for temperature sensitive fish.

    i am using the normal mercury type...more then enough for my shrimp tank~recently the temperature is getting much hotter then normal temp...take note...

    Focus on the topic and keep all chiller talk to a minimum.

    There are many themometer types for aquarium use. The one with a red liquid seen clearly in the bulb are red-dyed alcohol thermometers. You do not want to use mercury themometers in an aquarium. Should the silver liquid break out of the thermometer, the liquid mercury will KILL any living thing in the water. Stick with a proven brand of either alcohol or digital themometers for in-tank use.
