Hi all, just dropped by Nature Aquarium today and was quoted $180 for 4ft PL light. Heard that it was 6500K (spectrum?). Just wondering if anyone's got comments on the quality and effectivness of NA's PL lights as compared to maybe CR or those with Osram tubes?

Well, I've been using Nature Aquarium made pl light and no complains so far. Had it for 2 years. Using e-ballast too.

I think they use osram tubes too or issit AEC.. anyways you can actually pay more for better tubes, just a few bucks.. i think the one ur refering to is the 4 x 36 in 1 casing one.. if you have the moeny, i strongly suggest getting it from em. Its good and it comes with a warrenty too!

If it's in your budget, ask Chan to give you Osram tubes instead of AEC (if he is still selling those). Osram ones will maintain their intensity longer, but of course cost more.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.

I got my lights from NA too. Comes with 1 yr warranty and I find his workmanship good. Price is quite reasonable too.

    Cheers!

I happened to go Soon Heng88 to look for HOT Magnum filter. He does not carry the Bio-wheel so I decided not to buy. However, I saw him selling 2 ft PL lamp for S$50. Looks not bad. Anyone got any comments on his light. Thank

It is at Blk 114 Bukit Merah View #01-568. You can align at Redhill Mrt and walk for around 10 to 15 mins. Carry a large variety of ehiem and other canister filter.

A word of advise... compare the lights by it's contents. It would be wise to check if it's using E-ballast, type of tubes, colour temp, switches etc. Cheaper sets may only come with iron core ballast which is heavy and emits lot's of heat. So beware of wat you're buying.
    Cheers!!
