Welcome to AQ.. Hope to exchange pointers with you.. Cheers
Hi all,
my name is Evelyn, 55 years old, art teacher from Bavaria, Germany.
It's been over 1 year since I started my hobby (200 liter tank) and soon I have fallen in love especially to mosses.
Most of my free time I spend still learning, collecting ideas, experimenting a lot and waiting for my huuuuuge tank, that I am dreaming of.
The last summer I also became keen on having dry mossgardens - aquascaping without aqua…simply irresistible
I came by accident to this side and hope to learn more from this wonderful forum.
Cheers
Evelyn

welcome to AQ Evelyn and a nice tank you got there but where are the fishes? :P
I can see at least one Hillstream Loach.
Welcome to the forums Evelyn.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
Hi Simon and Hawk,
I have only tiny fishes in comparison to the tank - in this way my little underwater world seems to be larger for me (as well for the fishes I think). My tank is only a collection of plants waiting for a bigger home. There my fishes will appear still smallerI hope.
Detailed photos of my fishes you can see in the easiest way in my aquarium blog ...
Warning: It became pretty long in the meantime ...

Yes, there are 4 cute babies of Sewellia lineolata Are they the Hillstream Loach? I do not know common fish names in English yet - hope this will change soon.
Also I have 7 Corydoras Sterbai, 2 Otocinclus, about 15 Galaxies, 10 Carnegiella myersi and 6 lightblue/yellow Double Sword Guppies and different snails.
Cheers
Evelyn
Ok - another one, this time with fishes...

Sewellia lineolata is a hillstream loach and very beautiful species too. It is perfectly fine to just use scientific names to describe fishes in this forum. Common or vernacular names can get confusing at times.
I must say Evelyn, your moss gardens are simply beautiful. One of your tank images gave me an idea of sorts, on what I would probably try in the future when I have my own home and space to further my hobby and interests.

Thank you stormhawk,
tank- mossgardens are soooo easy to handle: just put them on a shadowy place, and spray twice per week with distilled water... sometimes I water the ground from the tab... I have mostly local mosses and lichen from the forests here and some Tillandsias, that I have to bring into the house before winter.
Important: to vent the closed mossgarden regularly - otherwise mildew comes soon.
I tried it also directly in the garden, but neighbours hens and the blackbirds destroy them a lot. But I don't give up... covered them with chicken wire. Ugly!
Great fish do you have!
