Might be possible, though it may get sucked towards the holes of the rainbar and get stuck. They may also multiply to plague populations and might be difficult to remove after that.

Depend on the size of your rain bar. For me i place a nerite snail in my overflow pipe system for my shrimp rack. It help to eat up the algae build up inside the pipes.

Hi, do note that the shell(s) of the snail(s) may block up the hole(s) of your rainbar, thus restricting water outflow eventually... Maybe a better option is to remove the rainbar & give it a few good pull-throughs to clean the algae thoroughly... [Just my humble thoughts...]
the snail will grow bigger and bigger and then when too big will get stuck and then die inside the rainbar?
a few weeks has passed...but the snail seems happily living inside my rainbar camping for the algae inside it~~
