to me, it looks just like a normal grade c crs. but still, nice shrimp. i do have one like that in black too.

Hi bros,
Found a very interesting coloured/pattern shrimp in my tank, the colours is not as red as the rest of the brood. No idea if it's just a normal C garde CRS offspring or a wine red. Any ways to distinguish a wine red via pattern?
Please help me identify
Thanks !

Agree with kendrick..its just good colouration of it
I AM ADDICTED TO SHRIMPS!!!!
it's really a nice piece of grade C
can try selective breeding this piece!

Thanks for all the input bros.
However, I don't really understanding selective breeding part. Selective with what grade and what is the ideal outcome? Same pattern, colour or it will come out with nice thick red on different grades?
Cheers!
Its just the same as 2 tall parents will normally have son or daughter who are tall. If both parents are short, their children will be short. But there's always cases of tall parents with short child or short parents with tall child.

Height is influenced by many alleles which is why we can see such a big difference between parents and child...some even claims that height tends to skip a generation. I'm taller than both my parents, same height as my grandpa, haha
AFAIK, the colors in CRS shrimps are quite tightly controlled by only a few alleles with only limited genotypes, although the patterns and intensity may be similar to human heights and influenced by many alleles which produces the width range of phenotypes we can observe.
IMHO, if TS wants to try and continue this pattern, it would be good to cross it with other shrimps with such wide red bands and little white. And choose those with more intense red colorations. Will probably need multiple breeding tanks, aka shrimp rack, if one wish to undertake such selective breedings. It is indeed a very nice specimen![]()
Agree with eviltrain.
