Difference between Eheim 2026 and 2227

Hi all,

Like to seek advise from all expertise in here regarding eheim filter. In fact i wanted to buy eheim 2026 for my 2.5ft thank... for maine ... but then after going through few forum for information. Someone recommend to use Ehein 2227 for external filter. So i would like to know what is the difference between this two????????? thought it is the same.

I had read the spec of 2227 which is wet/dry. so wat is the use of this??? Can anyone please guide me ??????

BTW, anyone out there know about the cost of this filter 2227 in singapore????? so where can get the lowest price???

Both are GOOD filter, the 2026 is a standard WET filter as the media are soak in water all time. compare to The EHEIM professionelwet/dry filters 2027 or 2029 offer efficiency surpassing that of a trickle filter. The water movement within the filter is bi-directional allowing for extended contact time between bacteria colonies, oxygen and toxins, which are thus decomposed much more rapidly than in a traditional filter. less air contact.

Decomposition of ammonium - 73% faster, nitrite - -67% faster.

Exchange of oxygen and CO2 is accomplished by means of displacement through the specially designed breathing tube.
The water output pulsates as the filter fills and empties, achieving a wavelike action which prefer for Marine tank compare to a planted tank.

so .. i think better buy 2227 or 2229 .. can break down the ammonia and nitrie.... hehehe... if can put nitrate sponge in it better.... best!!!!

is there nitrate sponges?. if there are, why so many reefers struggling with NO3. i think canisters is a waste of $$$. get a sump. cheaper and more effective.
