well i'm starting a tank in my room but the temperature is not really stable will cycling the water, i notice that during the night if i on the aircon temperature will hit around 23 to 25, normal night with only fan 25~27. day temperature can hit up to 27~30.
any idea what type of shrimps fall under this categories.
what i know cherry shrimp is the most and well known that can stand almost all temperature what other type of shrimp can i put it in.
hi midoban. i have a 1.5ft shrimp-only tank in my living room, the temperature is constant at 28degrees at all times. the types of shrimps i keep are in my signature, so maybe you can consider these shrimps if you want a wide variety. for higher grade shrimps like CRS are not suitable as 28-30degrees is simply too high.
cherries are great shrimps to keep as they are really hardy. best to view with dark coloured gravel. just my 2cents worth

- 23 blood parrots
- 2 high-fin plecostomus
my 10 gallon shrimp tank:
- sakura, cherry, malaya, orange, snowball, tiger, bamboo
- 3 otocinclus, 3 assassin snails
Maybe you could try snowball or sulawesi shrimps other than cherries.
alright thanks for the infomation, any more shrimp that anyone know that fix in that kind of temperature.
how about tiger/bee shrimp?
tiger/bee the max temp should be 26 degrees for them to thrive. I have some tigers in my tank living at 29 degrees, but they are not breeding., quite expected, given the high temperature.
Try cherry/ Sakura.
one thing i don't understand is how your water temperature can fluctuate so much. during the day you don't on your fan? my tank don't have a fan and it stays constant at 29 degrees. i know its not the optimal for shrimps but they seem to be doing fine. how many degrees can the fan lower?

Cherry n Sakura will sure be able to do well in that temp but it will depend on other factor other parameter that is.
It is not the temperature range, but the temperature fluctuations that i am concern. Day time highs of 29, night time low with aircon 25-26?
Temp is consider part of our parameter for shrimps keeping bro. Such temp fluactuations will long term yes is harmful to the shrimps.
