protein skimmer

[marine beginner]

HI,

Is it a 100% thing that there will be something to skim in marine tank?
Will there be a situation where there is nothing to skim?

I have been running one using wood stone for about 2 weeks. there is nothing to collect. the bowl is as clean as it was new.... strange>>>>

I'm have a 3.5 x 2 x 2 ft tank. with only 2 clown fish, 1 tube worm and some not so much life LR.

Hi, not all skimmers work effectively...especially the air-stone driven ones...
A cheap and good skimmer to get will be Weipro, venturi skimmer, below $100, available at KS. You'll be collecting kopi-O(or at least teh-O) with this skimmer...
