Just use water to wash the filter. then fill up the canister with water and dose some anti-chlorine. Did I miss out anything?

i guess u used tap water to wash the filter?? [:0]

best to use water that has been aged for about 2 days or so , OR alternatively use the tank's water .

fresh tap water has chlorine and it is a no-no for fitler materials .

Best is wash using tank water.

Just rinse the media to get most of the dirt away. Remember not to use tap water in any part of the filter washing process. It kills the good bacteria.

Have to wait some time (maybe a week or much more???) before the bacteria colony revives on its own. Or you can speed up the process by putting in some commercially "bacteria-in-a-bottle" available in most LFS.

Have dose some PSB (???) bateria yesterday, water still look cloudy, think patience is the key word.

Another question - Does high temp contribute to cloudy water? my tank are overheating right now... grr!! hope by tonite can finish my fan.

agreed . i went window shopping a few weeks ago at C328 , quite a number of little kids were there with their parents , "nemo" was the word for that day , and guess what , they intend to keep it in a small acrylic tank sheesh ........

if guns were easily avaliable , there would be tons of school shootings after every terminator movie

bro daz...instead of ceramic rings...why not get biohomes?its really value for money.[]

and no...dun tink temp affect the cloudiness.cloudiness just the starting of a new tank only.after ur bb is cultivated, all should be fine.

"Biohome" comes in two flavours , i believe its white n red , whats the difference ?? i really dunno but the price is about $13 and $18 . NA sells em , and also quite a few places

It is used to cultivate both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria and also provides a strong foothold for them []

Chemically the material used is inert so you dont have to worry about changing it after every how long or such .

yes..u r rite bro.comes in red and white.i kinda forgot also wats the diff.but for normal tank just use the white one will do.i tink the red one comes with special dunno wat.

and this biohome have been tested upon.and they have found that the TOTAL area for the bb to grow on is MANY TIMES more than in ceramic rings and coral chips.although its quite ex..but its really gd.u dun need that much if urs is a 2ft tank.maybe can share with ur fren?each one 1/2 packet?

and bro daz...dun change ur water everyday.just let it be.it will auto clear one.the more u change, the harder it is to get clear.i tink by normal standard...most pple change abt 30% of their water weekly.some dun even change.for me i just do top up and maybe 30% every fortnight.

dun worry abt cloudy water, its the norm.
