Haven't got a chance to get hold of one yet.. Can advise roughly how much to dose in a 1ft cube tank? as want to be sure that I cycle the tank correctly with the right amount...
Full Bottle. Anyway, don't worry about overdosage as the Old Mud Sea Powder is covered by a layer of soil on top. It is to remove metal in the water. Then you don't have to dose old mud sea powder for a few month. It is written on the bottle instruction.
err, you can go any LFS which sells it and just look behind to see what the dosage indicated...

Thank you magpie for the valuable input!![]()
Will be going down this weekend to get a bottle to kick start my tank!
Just one more question, heard that there is another similar product called "Mosura BT-9" which is recommended to work together with old sea mud powder.. are BT-9 similar to old sea mud powder? what are their differences?![]()
your questions will be answered here ....

Thanks eviltrain!
Actually been to that site before posting my doubts here, thought that bros here might had used\tried out the products and could provide good useful advice than rather following solely instructions on the bottle..
Maybe my questions are incorrect posed at, please pardon me..I want to know whether is it necessary to use both BT-9 and old sea mud powder together in the initial kick start as stated in the mosure website that both also can be used during initial startup of tank.

I used all the mosura range products before. Beside bt-9, i am using ada bacter too. Its just mix and match to suit indivdual preference.
I normally will just follow the instruction and dose a require. If you feels that need more just add more. Need lesser just dose lesser.

Mosura BT-9 is used to remove ammonia and nitrate. Liquid form. Initially cycling of tank, your ammonia and nitrate will reduce faster if you dosed BT-9

Thank you magpie and eviltrain for the information and advise provided.
Now I am confident that my new shrimp tank startup won't go wrong.![]()
just read up on those successful threads in the forum will keep you with ample knowledge on starting up the tank.
