hee hee, you are wrong wor. my uncle had a profanic fan attached blowing downwards to the water surface of his 4 feet tank and able to cool the tank water 2 degree down. but that's the maximum pull down by using fan.

Other small rosette plants like echinodorus tennellus, dwarf amazon sword. and dwarf sagittaria can also be considered, depending on your intended scape layout.

are dwarf sagittaria easily found ?
I think the main issue growing HC is the lighting as it requires high light at least 3wpg. The CO2 shouldn't be much of a problem as you can dose excel as well.
I would suggest the Staurogyne repens for 4 ft tank, it makes a nice carpet. In fact I just replaced the crypts with it on the foreground of my 4ft. Hope they do well.
my tank has no chiller and my tank height is only 0.5ft... it is doing well and its pearling... maybe you can give it a try..
Tried HC before, did not work out too well
Depends on your location.. shops that stock Staurogyne should have the plants I mentioned too. I stay in the east and I frequent Pasir Ris and Seletar farms. I got my tenellus from Capricon in Pasir Ris fish farm. Dwarf amazon sword is fairly common in most lfs that has a decent stock of water plants, comes in a cup with 3-4 stalks. In the west C328 and Colourful would have them too.
Most of the foreground plants are cultivated and sold as emersed form, thus their appearance is slightly different from submersed form, best to check with the lfs.
Unless you go to farms, chances are, even if the LFS you visit stocks the plant you're looking for, they wouldn't have sufficient number of pots, since yours is a 4footer.
You best bet would be to go to your nearest LFS, ask for their 'Tropica plant book' and just point to the plant you're looking for, they would be able to order for you.
I have done that on numerous occasion and the LFS I visit is more than happy to oblige.

Go for glosso (GLOSSOSTIGMA ELATINOIDES) it is easy and it produces alot of bubbles to stare at. And if done properly you can get the leaves to be almost as small as HC.
add a chiller it does wonder for the plant
