Next time you should use thin fishing line so that it won't be so obvious. If you some sort of wants to pull out the string, you might pull the rest of the javajava moss out too. My suggestion is to just leave it as it is.
Hi guys, it's been about 3 months since I started on my tank and I tied java moss on to the driftwood. I was wondering, how can I find out if the moss is anchored to the driftwood so that I can remove the sewing strings I used for tying? or Should I leave it there? Thanks!![]()

I believe that the 'sewing string' that you used will soon will decompose and dissolve in water, if not you dont have to worry about it and leave it as it is.
i been using normal $1 cotton string to tie my moss. just leave it alone, use black or dark brown colour string will not be so obvious. i prefer to use cotton string then using fishing line. so far i haven't see the string i use deteriorate yet.

normally the string will be cover by the moss, you should not be able to see it.
I've been using cotton thread to tie my mossess down to rocks / driftwood for the past 3 years. Hasn't deteriorated on me yet. Even if they do start to rot and break away, the moss does seem to grow quickly enough to completely cover the thread. My advice would be not to do anything and wait for the moss to grow. This may take slightly longer without CO2 injection, but it will eventually happen.![]()

Thanks guys. I did use dark brown string, so it's not very visible..I think I will leave it there. Thanks!![]()
