Are those plants (usually crypts i think) suitable to be planted fully submersed?

co2 is must but other than usual melting, are they fully submersed plants?

I had kept quite a no. of crypts in low tech tanks before, they are generally low requirement, and yes they are fully submersed.
Hi, sorry i'm quite a noob but why is C02 injection a must for crypts?
