That is if the public cares about it and those marine fish hobbist borthered about it. Afterall, the authorities here did not take action or issue a decree, so it is ok. Just pay, like the COE.

Have we noticed that the exchanges are confined to the few of us, DiveDiveDive, Kelstorm and myself. What about the remainder of the "marine" forum members ? Have we touched a raw nerve here that they chose of ignore.

Anyway,I have made my points here and have a lively discussion with the other 2 forum members. Since there is no inputs from other members, i think it will be just the point from the 3 of us that is like replaying broken records. So.....

Hi guys, i've just join this list and saw the arguments on should we or should we not collect corals etc from the wild. The solution is to propagate our own coral. How? you may ask Visit http://www.garf.org they are one of those who actually propagate their own corals and provide coral farming technology to people in states, the last one i heard is a Clam farming and TMF in UK have already successfully breed their own cleaner shrimp and lots of other marine fish which was once tot not possible in captivity. The reason that i join this forum is that hoping thru this forum, we can all try to learn to propagate our own coral and to trade from those who had surplus(like some of my corals are growing very fast especially arcopora) soft corals needless to say is the easiest to propagate. We are aware of the impact this hobby is doing to the wild, but believe me...there's still lots of ppl studying and researching it just visit once again http://www.garf.org to see what we the hobbyist are doing to preserve this precious gem in the ocean and believe me.....in years to come most will be captive breed for the trade(not all though). Although the price may be higher as the cost to breed them have to be absorb by the consumer(us) I for one would definately do my part to ensure that those i purhcase is captive breed as for those who are into marine i do believe they would do their part to ensure that this hobby will be legal in generations to come. Afterall, majority of the oxygen we breath comes from the micro algae from the ocean surface. Happy reefing guys. My 2cents info

Let us work together to preserve the world for our children to inherit by being responsible to our surroundings. Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints, bubbles and memories.
