    Hi all,
I am very new to this so please bear with me. I was around Clementi to buy the above mentioned plant. Could not find anything that looks like it at C328 so walked over to Polyart. Uncle at the counter don't understand me when I asked about Rotala. So I wandered to his display tank and pointed to the star-looking green plant in the mid background. He then said "oohhh", i have 2 pots left and soon directed me to his CO2 tank where he keeps is "better" looking plants. And in the middle of the pile, he pointed at some pots and said these were the star-plants I wanted. I was a little confuse because the pots he showed me had plantlets with aerial roots and the leaves were more rounded.

Long story but here's my problem. I've googled the images of Rolata green but I get varying photos of them in pots. The ones in Tropica website (033A) shows roundish leaves while those at lelong.com.my have elongated ones. All no aerial roots.

So which is correct? Don't want to buy something in a hurry then later grow up happen to be something else. Or better still, can someone direct me to a LFS that will not take me for a ride.

    Thanks all

Pardon my ignorance, but are those roots that grow out from the stem called aerial roots or water roots ?

don't know about roots naming, but the round one is emerse leaf and the other one is submerse leaf.

You can order from C328 aunty, order number WP543 but they may not accept is you just order 1 or 2 pots

The Rotala with round leaves was grown emerge, but once new growth started it will not be rounded anymore. Are you buying other plants aside from Rotala?
If you want to make sure that you're getting the plants you want and you find them difficult to find from LFS, try the Mizu: http://www.mizuworld.com/product/detail/223

Thanks. I just managed to get a pot from C328. It looks just like the ones on Mizuworld. Hopefully they grow up to be rotala greens. If not maybe have to give up for adoption......just kidding
