Shrimp problem ...

i have a couple of malayan n yamato shrimps .

there seems to be a single malayan shrimp that is a tad too big , and might pose as a danger to my tetras .

The tank is rather planted .

Any ideas on how to catch this bugger ?

and maybe i'll donate it to my LFS.

btw , do Shrimps sleep ??

A malayan shrimp that is larger enough to endanger your tetras? [:0] ... Adult yamatoes can get as big as 6cm (perhaps bigger) while adult malayan shrimps are usually no bigger than 4cm. Are you sure that's not a ghost shrimp?

Try using 2 nets (1 small and 1 big) to catch it but catching a shrimp or fast fish can really mess up your tank if it is heavily planted. Certain shrimps (esp. large yamatoes) will swim up to your floating plants when during feeding time. If that shrimp exhibit this behaviour, you may be able to use it to your advantage.

Note : Malayan shrimps are very cowardly and they will neither attack fishes nor fight with them for food. Unless you have one that has been been bombarded with gamma radiation ...

i'm pretty sure it aint a ghost hehe will try the "feeding-time" tactic [] but will have to be tml hehe

[] yup , its sleeping time now , will go out later , give em about an hour or so , then maybe go with my tweezers

but the bad part is .... even if they r asleep ... they have no eye lids so i guess they should see me coming , but i hope not kekeke

muahahha , finally got all of em out they would be going over to my lfs , and maybe trade em for guppies [] []
