Now you have the full set of Blue and Green Algae.[]
I guess the colour may vary but they are still BGA.

Last month my tank was attacked by BGA that were slimy, dark green in color and covered gravel and plant leaves. They had strong moldy odor.
After I got rid of them, now I have another BGA (I suppose) that is more bluish in color (almost blue). Covers gravel but not so much on plant leaves (maybe because I removed it soon enough). But they don't have the moldy odor neither any smell at all.
Are both types BGA? If both are BGA, then I suppose they could evolve/mutate into different types based on the different conditions they encounter.

SIONG AH!!! How's your kidneys after so much water change? Can sympathise with you. But don't give up and fight on man.

That was alright. Thanks to small tank size. It is really good for beginners. When you have to change water very often, it doesn't hurt your kidney[----------------

I must say that this new hobby has been very "educational"

Tay, you may want to do yourself a favour by digging out those fert sticks you poked into the substrate. Do you remember where you poked them into? They could be leaching NH4 and subsequently converted to that high NO3. NatureTan had a hard time with them too. He posted his experience here and you may want to look for it.

Now I regret I did not make a note on where I inserted them. Will go look for Nature Tan's posting.

Bttay, your problem is from your high bioload. Unless you remove some fishes from your tank, you are going to have algae problems.
