Maybe you can take a pic? If it is indeed a ghost shrimp or any macrobrachium shrimp, you better separate it, very dangerous with fishes.
hello everyone. a while ago i bought a couple of yamato shrimps and one of them looked different. after google-ing and looking at various shrimp websites, i believe i could have gotten a ghost/glass shrimp or red claw macro shrimp (according to theshrimptank.com). the thing about this shrimp is that it doesn't have the red claws like the pictures from the above website.
and the other weird thing is i think i've kept them for more than 2 months and now the particular outcasted shrimp, the only one i have, has greenish like eggs.
can someone please advice?

this is the best picture i can get. the greenish thing at the bottom of the body is the eggs.
why is it dangerous by the way? the shrimp attack other fish, or the fish attack the shrimp?
Hi yes,it is a ghost shrimp. The shrimp actually does attack fishes especially when they are asleep. or more of disturb them
do they breed by themselves? because i only have one of it, which happened to be packed into my yamato shrimp bag. don't understand why it can produce eggs.
I think they can store sperm after they mate once. Some crabs can do this, not sure for shrimps. Once when i kept these, they cut off my betta's tail
hmm. i store this particular ghost with yamato and guppies. i have one yamato that looks fin-less etc. maybe it's like what you said, it clips other passer-by's.
so is the eggs on the ghost going to turn into more ghosts?
I think the ghost shrimp shrimplets require brackish water to survive. So no need to worry about more ghost shrimps
I think ghost shrimp is sold in fish shops for feeding?
