    Re: 5ft Iwagumi Shallow Tank

Nope. Most use normal glass because tempered glass is brittle. However, tempered glass is much stronger (they said 5x stronger) than normal glass. For my tank, I don't even see bowing effect with 12mm glass.

From the picture, I have lowered down the water by 3" due to weaken silicone, otherwise it is around 1cm to gap.

Very nice tank and healthy glosso, by the way I don't see any chiller in your setup. What temperature are you maintaining? Are you letting go any rock?

dersuz: Yes, all the rocks are up for sale but i am from Malaysia. As for the temp, I do not run any chiller. Basically I am just using 2 x a/c to cool down whole living room. Tank temperature is at 23-24C.

sfk7: it is made by one of the LFS in Malaysia. Good workmanship but poor silicone quality. Not recommended.

Too bad, you're living in Malaysia and the rocks are way too heavy to carry over the crossway. Custom might not allow us to go through with some many rocks.

Beautiful setup. Very unconventional to do a shallow tank.

Very impressive set up bro! Can I ask how did you actually age these rocks? How did you get the algaes on it and how to make it look so good?

    Cheers.

Your scape is simply Breathtaking!! It looks Great from whichever angle you look at it. I'm also amazed at how the glosso creeps upwards at the side of the rocks while the rest carpets at the soil. Are you submitting it for the 2011 IAPLC??

CPO - Algae just grow on the rocks, I didnt purposely grow it.

    ne0matr1x - Tank temperature is @ 23-24C using 2 a/c on 12 hours each.

aquarius - thanks for your kind comment but I dont think this tank will score anywhere in top 300. Dirty equipment, no background..etc.

Have confidence in your work. Besides, you've put in alot of hardwork from the planning to the buying and putting in of the Very Heavy rocks into the tanks. And also not forgetting the back-breaking work of planting of the Glossos. Dirty equipment and no background is only a small matter cos the main bulk of the hardwork is already done. I strongly urge you to go for it and ignore the score.
