Sorry to hijack thread starter. I got a silly question in mind. Will a high power fan cool down a tank more in terms of lowering the temperature or it all ties down to the surroundings ambience?

    Cheers!

all tie down to the surrounding. It can only reduce 2 to 4 degree.

ANS 3000 have no electrical isolation, so it is very dangerous when it drops in to the water.

I am using the ANS 3000 now. Very efficient compared to my previous fan! Good buy for now as a chiller is not pratical due to space constrain!

There should be no problem on the cooling power in ANS 3000. Only concern is the safety, it is directly connected to the power switch. That is why I choose dymax w-7.

Mine is Dymax W-8 as well. MY tank is in the living room and you can hear the noise even inside the bedroom!

ANS 3000 is pretty loud as well. But not as loud as Dymax W-8 from the way you describe it. hahah! But investing in a chiller will be a better idea if budget and space is not a concern.

    Re: Quiet Aquarium Fan

I am currently using Dymax W8 now after my Dymax W 7 died when I accidentally hit it with something...Both of them are kinda loud so not recommended for the bedroom..haven tried other fans though so cant really compare across brands...but power wise, I think W7 is more powerful out of the 2..the diff is around 1 degree for me..is the Mr Aqua tornado fan a stronger fan than these 2?
