    Hi,

what do I need to change if I would like to do a conversion? Can I still retain my PL lights, filters media like balls, rings, volcanic rocks?

    Cheers

U might want to remove the filter medias and change into a brand new ones.. coz the bacteria are different. The PL lights, wat intensity are they giving out? How much Kelvins? we dun really talk abt Watts per gallons here. can keep the bio-balls but lose the rings. they get clogged very fast. volcanic rocks can keep but u have to seed them using live rocks over 3-6 months.

    Hi,

The lights were about 6500K for plants. Do they sell Blue PL light say about slighty more than a feet? How do you seed the volcanic rocks? Just leave where they are? (the volcanic rocks were part of my filter media)

PS removes dissolved organics and wastes that cannot be removed by filter. As such, it is an essential equipment for marine setup.

not enuff. minimum should be ard 9500k coz the spectrum of lights are different. Corals aint plants. They are animals. If u are planning to keep corals, u should be considering more than 9500k. unless u only keeping macroalgae like i do, then a 6500k is sufficient

Do they sell Blue PL light say about slighty more than a feet?
sorry, u would have to do some legwork here. If i'm not wrong, it should be at least 2 ft.. dun think there are any lesser than that. If u do find them, let me know

How do you seed the volcanic rocks? Just leave where they are? (the volcanic rocks were part of my filter media)
no when i say seed them, it means placing the volcanic rocks inside the main tank, not inside the filter media. i get the impression that u want to cultivate calcarious algae on the volcanic rocks. not placing them inside the filter area
