    Re: +2.5ft Iwagumi Shallow Tank

Wow - PROX, what can I say, you have a way with "simple" setups. Nice. Will be parking here to see how the glossos turn up with only 5hrs daily lighting. ;-) and of course, the high grade CRS! "jia you!" (press on!) :-)

btw, are the Lava Rocks dark brown/black or it's the lighting? The ones in SG LFS are typically orange...

    Re: +2.5ft Iwagumi Shallow Tank

It is dark grey lava rock. Not so easy to get. Most here are brown to orange colour too which is not suitable for hardscape because of the strong contrast colour.

I will increase photoperiod by 1 hour after 2 days after the first week. This is considered as "budget" tank.

    Thanks for your kind comment.

    Re: +2.5ft Iwagumi Shallow Tank

More pictures during the setup . . .

BorneoWild complete substrate system (similar to ADA subs system)

Dump in used soil/powersand/lava rock from 5ft tank. Hardscape (big lava rock) is recycled from previous 1ft tank.

    Perform WIWO before planting.

    . . . more coming up

Hi PROX, your iwagumi setup always so nice and inspiring. Seem that Malaysia can get better rocks for iwagumi scaping.

    Re: +2.5ft Iwagumi Shallow Tank

Quite hard to source for that colour (Dark Grey) of Lava Rock. I got it from one of the LFS in Malaysia long ago for my 1ft setup. Basically I bought all.

I will add 2-3 more rocks in the open area to make it looks like mountain formation.

Thanks for your comment Appreciate it.

Glosso is separated into each "node" and planted one by one. Best if you got assistant otherwise be prepared to get backache after planting.

    Result after don't-know-how-long of planting

    Replace 2 x 24W T5HO Original light bulb (Katana) with 2 x 24W T5HO Giesemann Powerchrome Midday.

I guess I am now a sucker for German made stuff.

Zonkkie - Very sharp eyes..yes, I added 6 otos. I took 2 days to plant Glosso in 5ft tank. I don't know how many hours of planting...

Hey, can I ask where did you buy the blue things to hold the hose? Very useful stuff but I never saw before. Thanks!

I got it from LFS. Quite common and widely available. I even saw it in some of the hardware shops.
