    Hi all,

I just brought some sakura shrimps to keep, they are really lovely creatures. Well, so far they have been doing well. My tank is 7gallon, temperature around 24-26 degree. A planted tank for around 6 months. So, I guess should be a good environment for them. Heres my questions:

    1. My current tank has only 3 endlers and the 5 sakura. Will the endlers eat up their offspring?

    2. I never buy any special shrimp food, so is it ok if they were fed will fish flakes? Or is better with shrimp food?

    3. Is seachem excel safe for shrimps?

Thanks for help guys~ I am really hooked to them. Love at the first sight

endler will have shrimplet buffer unless u provide alot of hiding place but they will still get chomp by your endlers during feeding time. If just sakura u can try barley pellet for them (i brought 1 at $8 from petmarts) fish flakes i don't know effect but i know some lfs will just recommend u that. They will tell u no need buy special food etc. (bascially they know nuts they just want to sell).

Seachem excel no idea i know another bro is doing some testing maybe he might read your post and advise u.

Seachem excel is ok with shrimps in a planted tank. Male endlers are smaller in size, compared to female. So far my male endlers seem ok with baby shrimp but then again, I've got lots of places for the baby shrimp to hide in.

It is better to feed your shrimps with specially created shrimp food. This is because the special food will give them the necessary nutrients. Protein is also important for shrimps to be berried.

Sachem Excel is not a problem.. I am dosing daily 10+ml to my planted CRS tank.. Shrimps are doing fine..

Shrimp food wise, it really depends in you because if you only have 5pcs of Sakura.. Buying a bottle of algae wafer might take you ages to finish.. Maybe you can try taking a few pieces from fellow shrimp owners or try barley straw pellet (they get a little messy though).. In your tank, 5 shrimps maybe you just need to feed 3mm out of a piece of algae wafer every alternate days..
