    Hi,

Was planning a rescape for my 2FT Shrimps Tank and was interested in creating a Rock Scape. Need some advise on whether the Rock in the picture was suitable fo shrimps.

Check with the shop uncle but he wasnlt sure what rock these are. Was worried that my water parameter will become unsuitable for shrimps if these rock was added.

    All advise are welcome.

    Thank you

Anothet way is to soak them in a pail of water. Remember to measure the before soaking and after soaking( like 1-2 weeks difference) and you will know. The one in front(smaller one) is shou rock which i use in my serene rock scape tank. Seems like not much problem for my fire reds as they still molt without problem.

That sounds good, Molting issue is what I am worried about. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I am planning to created a mountain scape with moss tied to the top portion of the rock. Will be getting about 8 pieces of
different height. 8 pieces of those will weight in at about 6kg,

Judging from your planted tank, I am very sure you will make a very beautiful tank with those rocks.
Do please keep us updated with pics when you are done.

Looks like it is going to be trial and error project. Went to 3 different reputable LFS and got 3 answers.

1 ) Don't know what rock are these.
2 ) These are normal rock.
3 ) These are the type of rocks with holes.

    Shake head...

I like the natural feel of your setup. I couldn't find the Big rock to use as a focal point, that's why I use 6 smaller rock of different height pack close together and tried to create the "Big Mountain" feeling. One thing I realise is that these rock may not comes in the color want even if we can find the the ideal shape and size. And often they are cover in soil and mud and you can only see the real color after washing. I wasted a few pieces just because on wrong color tone.

actually they have similar colour, you just have to scrub the harden mud off them( some of them even conceal the original holes). for your tank size, i guess you will need more they what you have now.

and all your big leaves plants will makes your rocks looks small too

Mine was also a 2ft tank. Agreed that the big leaves plants make the rocks looks smaller. Actually the moss on the lower foreground is suspose to be tied onto the rock. But I foresee maintaince problem as moss tends grow and cover the shape of the rock and in the end I might end up with just one big lup of mosses with not much shape. I am farming mini pellia now, planning to change the rock plant to Mini Pellia when I have enough of them.

Those big leaves plant that I am using now is Mini Nana which I have from from previous setup.

Thanks for the info, I know about their price range.

Been there last week, one of the sales guy keep on pushing me to buy plants, he said CNY coming so it is best time to buy plants. He tried selling me some plants but gave me all the wrong names, when I said thank you, I have enough plants, he tried to sell me some CO2 Tablets and when I told him no need because I am using a CO2 tank, he said that using CO2 tank caused temperature to raise (I Blured) so he tried to sell me a chiller.

Not impress by the product info he gave but impress by his persistence.

Yup they are sure pushy for the wrong thing and their things aren't cheap.
Hope you find the bigger rock you wanted or you might want to try CRS Haven at Tampines.
They had some good and big "dragon rocks".
