What soil are you using and what are you keeping?
You can try using some coral chips to raise the PH.

Hi, Thanks for the advice. I used to have them in my internal reactor but had since changed to an external one without the chips. Guess must check whether I can put some into reactor. BTW, I am using some Amazonia soil which actually is mixed with other soil which I can't recall the type. I am left with one C. Habrosus some Taeniacara candidi due to casualties and some rainbow shrimps. Cheers.
is this a new setup? how old is the setup?
It is normal for ADA soil to have low pH initially. It will go up to around 6.2 once your filter is mature, after around 3 to 4 weeks.
Does this apply to all types of Ada soil
Do you inject CO2? If you do, it's probably more than enough and that's the culprit.
Yes you can put some coral chips as filter media to increase the pHBut it takes time for the effect to set in though got to wait for a while to buffer up.
