By the way, the tank water does not look very clear or is the lighting not strong enough?

Hi Bro, any updates on your set up? How is the replacement of the broken filter part coming along?

Bro, just a question, why do u need to install a wavemaker? I am also starting a 4x2x2ft planted tank.

increase flow rate and also better distribution of co2.. i find that even with Fx5(2300l/hr) its not enough.. the other side of the tank is almost stagnant.. with the wavemaker, the overall flow is much better.

very nice set up. It is almost identical to mine. My tank has been set up for about 7 months now and since then I have done some adjustments. How is your temp running? What are you running in your fx5? The only things that I added was a diy chiller and 2 4ft super white led strips. Love the look so far tho. post up new pics if you have them.

    Re: EvoZ's 422 planted tank.

the new submersed leaves are not looking like rotala 'green'.. they seems to be super light seeking, they sway towards the morning sunlight from the window..

my mass of stem plants behind my wood, waiting for them to grow tall..

    my bunch of eriocaulon 'sp'..

my patch of HC, quite alot melted away.. hope it will spread soon..

Heres my FTS, tank is still yellowish due to driftwood leaking tanins...

Bro, your hc ia bought emersed right? Its normal that they melts away. Can see from the photo the rest growing quite well. If you want you can crank up the co2. Nicely done overall. Good job!

yes bought emmersed.. but if my memory didn't fail me, i don't remember them melting that much last time.. haha...
Right now co2 at ~5BPS and drop checker shows green.. i just crank it up to 7bps to see if the drop checker turns yellow tomorrow.

behind the wood, it looks like limited space for your plant to grow, you can bring forward the wood some more and to the right abit. personally i dont prefer one whole solid wood for the scape, cos it limits the design. just my 0.02 cents opinion.

Yah. Alvinchan80 that time also planted emersed hc and straight away add water. He cranked up his co2 that time and has not much rotting. He don't have any fauna in the tank that time when he does that.

Thanks bro for your advice, will play around with it.. true about the whole solid wood.. but mine are made up of a few pieces to look like a whole solid wood though.

Thought you placed the co2 glass diffuser under your wave marker initially. Changed position?

my mum likes the fine bubbles alot and so i placed it in the front.. i find it even more efficient compared to placing below the wave maker though.. the co2 bubbles follow the flow... above pic taken after i off my co2 solenoid.. with co2 on, the whole tank filled with micro bubbles.
