The camera is a Canon G11.

I now use a trick after much playing with it (this camera is new to me).

Shot in manual, top speed 1 / 125 (minimum fish move that fast when swimming) F match between 3 and 5.6 and high ISO (watch the particles!!).
No manual white balance ,i use "underwater", as it accentuates the red (red is lost to three meters underwater.)

Do not use flash, and the last pan is half of the aquarium light.

Try using photo editor's noise reduction to remove the grainy look on the photos. It helps.
