Aquascape Competition in Manila May 2011, judged by Heiko Bleher

Hi guys,

I just wanted to let you know that the Philippinos did a very nice Aquascape competition on 6-8 May 2011 and they invited me to be their only judge.

See for yourself if you agree with my judging, it was very close, specially the first and second placed - you see them below at: http://www.aquapress-bleher.com/inde...d=535&Itemid=1
but I still think the 1st. Place was the most nature-like biotope and the least overdone.

Nice scapes! Thanks for sharing. What are the tank sizes though? They seem quite small...30cm?

thanks for sharing, i really appreciate how these hobbyists are able to make a small scape feel bigger than it actually is..

Hi,

thank you guys, will bring you more soon. Yes all tanks were small, I think largest 50 or 60cm. And barmby, this is my "sommer"-hat, light and air-conditioned (very expensive present from my wife, bought in Mantova, made by Stetson, best in the northern hemispaere). For "Winter" I have my (black)hat from the best manufacturer from the southern hemispere in Australia, also wifes present...

Very nice, personally I like the one with the standing sticks, looks like it's in the woods/forest. Thank you for sharing, I also enjoy reading the blog.

Hello Heiko,

I did agree with your judging, however I guess others may have different views. Some prefer stone scapes over scapes with wood etc. I actually liked the scape called Hope.

By the way, your wife has great taste. That Stetson hat is nice.
