sounds like u adjusting the main valve.. the needle valve u referring to is copper and has a small round knob?
I need some help regarding my CO2 regulator valve.
Normal, you will need to adjust the CO2 flow using the needle valve @ the CO2 regulator. However when I adjust the CO2 regulator to minimize, CO2 still inject @ 2 - 3bps. Is there some problem with my needle valve. I am using a taiwanese brand, without solenoid.....
Can anyone pls advise me on which are better and more affordable brands?
Thanks!

Simon
If the main valve is open with the needdle valve closed, CO2 will not flow. For my case, when I open the main valve and with my needke vakve cosed, CO2 will flow @ 2- 3 bps. If I adjust my needle valve further, more CO2 will be injected.
I suspect my needle valve may be faulty.......

yup.. perharps u can bring back to the shop u purchased it from
william, the other way to get an additional needle valve that looks like the one above, the pic is from ervine's webby

Thanks for your info......I got this valve from Petmart @ S$20. Taiwanese made so I think no point bring it back since I am going to change to a new regulator valve with solenoid control...Wat brand u recommend. (I would like to keep my budget to less than S$200).
When I purchase my CO2, it last me more than 3 months when I inject @ a rate of 3bps...However for subsequent refill, despite I inject CO2 @ 3bps, my tank last less than 3 months (It is inconsistant, sometime lasting for 2 months, 1 month)
Can you pls advise?
Thanks!

u can try nature.. shld be ard $130-$150 i think.. perharps those who bought them there can comment, as for the refill, i heard is becoz the pressure on both yr co2 cylinder and the one used for refilling isnt at the same pressure
William,
I'm quite sure that the valve is faulty. Either you get an additional valve like what Simon has suggested or you get a new regulator with solenoid control.
I've noticed that the needle valve on the non-solenoid version regulator fail quite easily. IMO, the needle valve shouldn't be manupulated too often or it will fail like yours and a few guys have.
I've seen the regulator at Nature and it looks quite OK. It comes with a large solenoid which has a lower current rating, thus less heat (not advertizing for nature ok.....).
Guys, I have bought my solenoid regulator valve from Nature..Solve my problem, the rate is controllled @ 1bps. Thanks!
Can I check with you guys whether you open your CO2 main valve fully (The one @ the CO2 tank). 1 aquarium shop owner tell me to open the main valve fully. Wat you suggest?
Thanks!

William
