There's something like 1,500 species of gobies around. Which ones are you looking for exactly?

Go restaurent and buy the goby (soon hock) by the kilo[]

But seriously, goby obviously will eat shrimps right? Have you seen how the mouth stretch from 'ear-to-ear'?

Think I saw 2 types of guby in Biotope. Go check it out. Nice pattern, but do not know what they are called. Definitely cannot make a full-meal[]

apart from the bumblebee gobies, the indigenous knight goby (Stigmatogobius sadanundio) can be found in some LFS (think i saw some in one of the Serangoon North shops). the peacock gudgeon (Tateurndina ocellicauda) is available sporadically as well. i have never seen the pretty Empire Gudgeon (Hypseleotris compressa) though. More specialised outlets like Rainbow, Pet Safari, Biotope, Eco Culture should have these gobies on occasion..... also would you count mudskippers as rare gobies??? At Pet Safari i once saw a blue striped goby-like fish which was busy eating algae.... but it didn't appear to be on sale...Some authorities group gudgeons and gobies together, so the soon hock is part of the family as well....

most gobies are carnivores.... don't think they will eat shrimp, but young shrimp should be fair game

    most gobies
