SHRIMP LOVER
if you mean you decomm everything and want to add in boiling water and salt... i wont recommend it as i do not know whether the tank will crack or remain the same.. i've tried seachem excel to kill and they totally work... but remember to suck up all dead planaria after that![]()
Too much of a fish SIAO to quit fish keeping/fishing..
Did you search before asking? There is a thread with many tips on how to get rid of them: http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...light=planaria
There's also someone selling planaria killer made from natural herbs. Do a search, lots of threads come up.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
there will be no fish inside, as what icefire is saying, i will remove the flora and fauna inside.
@vinz, no one really talked about boiling water, i've read about people using vermex? and some other ways to remove it.
don't really have time to go down to a lfs to get these as i work until late.
I would really NOT recommend pouring boiling water into the tank. No telling how the glass and silicon would take it.
If you must use boiling water, then treat the substrate separately in a pail. Do not use salt as it might stay in the substrate. The tank, wash and scrub thoroughly. You can use a warm salt water to soak the tank, but not boiling.
By the way, planaria is present in our tap supply, so after everything, you still need to control them by not overfeeding, and keeping the tank clean.

thanks vinz, i think i now have a way to solve the planaria problem. it has been taking one shrimp away every other week, sadly. i'll go home and try it soon.
It's not good to pour boiling water over the substrate as this will dissolve cause it to breakdown a little. DO NOT use salt if you are keeping shrimps!!!
Best way is to just remove the planaria when you see them and CONTROL your feeding.
Hope this helps.
If you dry the substrate out, the planarias will die. Pouring boiling hot water in a tank will break it to my experience.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and he will drink beer while getting sunburnt.
thanks shaihulud, i guess i'll try that out too.
