Currently using Boyu LJ 380 to keep 5 baby ranchus. Used to keep tetras in this tank:



The tank definitely not able to handle the bio load. Have to change water every time i feed the fishes.


Any bros or sis here kept goldfishes in small tank before?

Would like to learn more how to handle . Thought of selling and buy bigger one but nobody interested. My wife don't allows me to keep 2 tanks (meaning have to sell current one than can buy another one. sianz.). Cracking my head now.

Hi. Welcome to AQ.

That tank is not a good aquarium. It's too tall and narrow. Tanks need good surface area to volume ratio to ensure a decent supply of oxygen to the tank, even if the aerator fails.

Bigger tanks are definitely better. You can keep more fish and they are more stable ecologically.

We have restrictions on the forum for new members topost in the marketplace, but it's not hard to meet the criteria. Just ask questions and hang around for about a month to interact with the members... you can use that time to learn more and plan your big tank.
