can stick with the aquazonic tubes right? I am using them although it is 12000k. But if you want more reds and have deep pockets, then get the Arcadia Plant Pro tubes.

The aquazonic light which is 12000k is good enough for plants. Despite it is 12000k, it is white and not blue.

Kelvins (K) greater than 6500 tends towards bluish. Less than that tends towards reddish.
The lights will appear white, but if you put them side by side you will notice the colour differences.
6500K is considered natural as it is close to natural sunlight and our eyes are used to it.
How colours appeared also depends on what colour light shines on it. Eg red plants don't look so good under blue light. You could mix tubes of different colours to get the desired effect.

Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
Thanks all.going seaview after new year. Another question, read from prox post that he changed his tube to a German brand and it actually became nicer, so I assume varies?

The above is correct but it depends on individual preference. 6500k is too "yellow" for me. I dare say most who try it and compare it with the 8000k or 10000k will hate the 6500k tube. Give it a try and judge for yourself. Personally, I find 8000k good enough but I have used Aquazonic 12000k successfully to grow plants.
These 12000k tubes are totally not blue at all. It is very white. Why? I dont know whether it is a different daylight tube or it is a printing error.
But there is one reference post in AQ here:

These are the 4 tubes on my former Illumax lightset.
The reds are the plant pro tubes ~6000k.
The next 2 tubes are Osram tubes - one rated 6500k (it doesn't look pink though) and one rated 8000k. Personally, I really prefer the color from the pinkish tubes.

Interestingly Plant Pro is pink...
