Hi, i'm very new to this, and just about to set up my tank. However, when i connect the output hose from the cannister filter to the co2 reactor, water is flowing out at a steady rate from the airline meant for co2 input. Wouldn't it be disastrous if i connect that airline to my diy co2 bottles? Or co2 produced by the bottles is strong enough to overcome the force of the water in the airline? Is this normal for every cannister and reactor combi? My filter is rated at 1000L/H ( says on box). Would really appreciate advice. Thanks a lot.

Yes, it would be disastrous. What you need to do is to install a check valve between the CO2 supply and the reactor. If you have a bubble counter, it'll be good to install another check valve between the counter and the reactor. Check valves can be gotten from most LFS. Its also used to protect airpumps from backflow of water when they stop.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
