rams are cichlids and it is in their nature to do so.. sometimes out of curiousity but depending on the character, they may simply peak to chase them away or eat them
I added some malayan shrimps into my tank today and was shocked to see my pair of ram attacking them!![]()
The other fishes were just curious and went away after taking a closer look at them. But the rams were looking for the shrimps and kept banging/biting the shrimps.
Will the ram eat the shrimps?
My lights are off now, I hope I don't find any dead shrimps when I on the lights tomorrow. Hope my rams won't have the shrimps for supper. []

thats the reason why i change my mind abt getting rams in my tank.hehe![]()
i've a pair of holland rams, been watching them for almost a week now.Quite inquisitive fishes i've nv seen them attacking any other fishes or shrimps in the tank.Another feature i notice about the rams is that they dont show their full colour when lights are on and instead when they are afraid or when lights are off, their full colour shows.
My lean, mean shrimp eating machine:
He wiped out my entire malayan shrimp populations. He became this colourful after eating all the shrimps.
