I chance upon this pair on the eve of CNY eve.
An apistogramma cacatuoides 'super red' pair.

Was wondering what's the difference between a super and triple red.
Is it just the intensity of the red or just 'marketing' term.

Anyway its this 'quadruple' male that got me attracted. Both pevic fins are also red with black marking. Managed to pick out a similar quadruple female. Hope she do not turn out to be a sneaker.

I vaguely recall some discussion about this.
I believe it only goes as far as triple red - ventral fins are red too.
No "quad" red.
Also, the female cacas are getting more colourful making some believe there are sneaker males.

"Super" implies that the red color is more intense. "Triple" refers to the color present on all the finnage.

This "super red" good to keep during chinese new year. Good for feng shui.
