Bro reveru, good to see you back! Lookin forward to the scape!Pretty big foreground!
Hi fellow forumers and hobby-ists, been away from the AQ scene for quite a few months due to work commitments, very busy. Recently got the urge to set up a small tank in the office, and so I did. That makes a total of 3 tanks I have to maintain, a bit tiring at times but quite worth it when it turns out lush and green.
Some of you may remember, these are the two tanks that I previously set up (still existing) with advice and help from forum members.
This is the current office tank I set up today. Decided on a 40 cm tank because the maintenance is easier to manage. Inspiration from all the nice Iwagumi scapes I have seen from other forumers and online. Really quite difficult to arrange rocks to achieve something pleasing to the eye. Viewing other scapes versus creating one's own scape is really two different things. Still got lots to learn. Nevertheless, always quite satisfying to setup a new tank.

It's for grazing shrimps!and for once, I can slack by not having to trim the plants when they push against the front of the glass. haha.
Bro,
Can share where you get the stones?
thanks
MErduka
Hi. The stones i got from MizuWorld. Hope it helps.
Wah!!! wonderful to see you back on scene!!
what are those black black things at the top of ur tank? light stand?
bro, how is the Amazonia II soil so far? Does it cloud up the water as much as Amazonia I?
Your 3rd tank looks nice, can't wait to see it with more greenery![]()
ranmasatome: thanks for the warm welcome back haha.yup the black plastic things are the clips on the light stand.. ugly hor?
evilfry: i only have experience of 3 tanks, but so far, none of the times did amazonia II cloud up my tank water. i have never tried amazonia I so i cannot give you a comparison. but do note that i fill my tanks with water using the CO2-sized hose to minimize disturbance to the substrate. takes very long man.![]()
Co2-sized hose that will take you years to dill 3ft tank, you are very patient
Amazonia I does not cloud up as much, as long as you know how to handle it. What you need to do is to cover exposed soil area with plastic, newspaper also can. Weight it down each corner with stones. Put small bowl or those take away container lid. Fill the water on it, of course not full blast. The idea is to brake the water fall so it won't disturb the soil too much.
Hi, some updates after 6 days.
can see the crypts at the back melting.![]()
Photo update!

Sorry can't resist taking photos of the CRS hehehe. Only normal grade CRS but I like them very much. Will post more updates in a few weeks!
is the red plant ludwigia?
I think those plants spoil all your sizing.... meaning... i feel that they are too large-leafed for the scape.
Personally, i would choose something with smaller leaves so that it compliments the scale of your scape and makes it look big.
i think you are right. any suggestions? i'm still open to changing it... doesn't look quite right to me! something with small leaves but will look nice at the back, but still give the illusion of perspective?
help!![]()
you want red colour?
Whats on the other corner? looks quite large leafed as well.. crypts?
