Thanks ,the attach is a 3 feet planted tank and the 4 feet tank with discuss tank is still empty worried that might effect health of fish so still bare .
Just wonder what type of plant would be easier for the discuss to graze thanks.

    Re: Discus tank

hi. most hobbyist who keep discus rear them alone in bare tanks. they need a lot of attention like frequent water changes if you want them to reach their full potential and size and it is not advisable to mix with other fishes as they are susceptible to diseases.

    Re: Discus tank

various species of Amazon sword plants attached to bogwood might be a good start. They blend well with discus and also able to provide them with some degree of shelter and hiding places.
you can keep bare bottom or with gravel, doesn't really matter but what you may want to consider then is the maintenance, bare bottom is easier and cleaner in the long run.

a variety of tank mates goes really well with Discus and they are neon tetras, rummynoses, corydoras. Just remember to quarantine any fish before putting them into the main tank

    Good luck!
