    Tank parameters:
dimension : standard 2ft tank sold in LFS
CO2 via diffuser bubbling at 2 bubbles per second
KH about 7-8!!! pH: didn't buy test kit
dose:General liquid fert everyday minimal amount, with KCL solution 2 drops per day.
Occasional fert sticks for the bigger plants.
Temp:26-29C Using four cooling fan (Ocean world I think)
Base fert bought from C328, cant remember what brand, white colored package
5cm - 8cm slope from front to back
lights: 1 x36WPL light, modified with e-ballast, 1x11W PL light
    Internal Resun filter
    Fishes:
    12 Cardinal
3 Rasbora ( not sure of name, some say lemon tetra)
    2 Blue neon tetras
    4 Otos
    3 Yamatos
    2 Orange tetras
Water change 10% every 2 wks, filter wash every week.
Minimal feeding once a day as my filter is not too capable of handling so much waste, scared of algae boom again.

While I'm not quite sure what are Yamato fishes and Orange tetras, they sure don't sound like arowanas to me.

Anyway, nice tank though the background looks a bit bare at the moment. You may have to start maintaining the riccia though cos the patch on the right side seems to be loosening from the mesh already.

    "filter wash every week"
You don't need to wash your filter every week unless the whole thing clogs up. Getting a strong amount of bacteria colony would be what you need to keep things stable. In a planted tank, a filter's purpose is only as a backup for the bacteria colony and circulation purpose.

Can also consider doing your water change weekly. It replaces some nutrients like Ca and Mg used up by the plants. And also removing excess nutrients.

Ya bro, tried doing a moss wall but ended up being a fish trap, every morning wake up got dead fish behind, besides, brownish hair like algae also forming behind the mesh, so tore it down, now thinking of better idea.
    More plants??
Its amazing how fast these riccia can grow..., Actually they were still alright until i went to trim them that they and gosh, the moment i snip wiht my scissor, they started to float up.. ARrrgghh....

i see, btw i also read that filter medias should only be rinsed with fish tank water and not chlorinated tap water right?
My concern is to avoid another algae attack, thats why the weekly filter media wash , lesser feeding and stopping my urge to add more fishes in my tank whenever i go to fish shops.[:0]

    bro juggler,

Thanks, will try to do it with my filter wash, actually i drain a little amount of my tank water to wash my filter sponge and just top up with normal tap water. But its only every other week when i do trimming and washing of tank surfaces with more water change.
