API GH/KH tester

Hi guys, may I know the following are correct.

I have been using the API GH/KH tester for nearly 1 month but I do not know whether am I seeing the correct info or .....

I followed according to the chart given in the box itself.

My planted shrimp tank
KH = 2/3 drop and it will turn to the correct designed colour given in the chart
GH = around 7/8 drop and it will turn to the correct designed colour given in the chart * I guess it should be a bit high

Am my water consider safe or which way is safer or is there any easier tester to test GH/KH together as i think the API tester are quite cheap which can test both water substance at one go
