    Hi to all,

I have a 40cm low tech tank and am wondering if CO2 tablets will work instead of having a CO2 tank.

    Thanks in advance

Hi, I've tried CO2 tablets before. They don't work, unfortunately. CO2 tank does a much better job in the long run. May be a little pricey initially, but you'll never regret it : )

    Hey Emokidz,

Thanks for the advice. Any idea how much is the initial cost of a basic co2 setup?

    Re: CO2 tablets

I tried CO2 tablets before also and confirm it don't work. It will leave white residue in your tank if you don't remove it.

2L manual regulator around $70 and with solenoid regulator around $120-$180.
Solenoid is used to control on/off of the regulator using a power timer if you don't know what is the difference.
It helps to conserve the CO2 at night when the lights are off.
