The one we usually talk about is in the 2nd pic. Very good for sucking up excess nutrients.

Ha, LeAnn, the first time I searched the web for this, I saw the first picture and said, "Looks like hair sticking out of someone's head, not going to have this in my tank!"

The second one looks simply beautiful, Sherchoo. Does this breaks off easily and clogs the filter?

    Thanks!

FLORENCE, capital of the region of Tuscany, has a population of around half a million inhabitants, spreads on the banks of the Arno, between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian seas, almost in the middle of the Italian peninsula. It is a city which bustles with industry and craft, commerce and culture, art and science.

wat some of us do is float them, instead of planting them into the gravel

does it look nice floating? and I"ve been considering hornwort for a while cuz I started off with cabomba and I don't like the way the leave shoots break off easily to clog up my intake pipe. does hornwort have the same prob?

HornWort nice when floating? I think individual taste differ.
They grow into a big mass which provides nice coverage for baby fish. As they float, so they do not get sucked into the filter intake at the bottom - unless you are using surface skimmer.

They grow damn fast so it is good for sucking up excess nutrients.

So far I tried once to grow them and that was like 1.5 years ago. Didn't encounter any breakage problem, but it was quite messy after trimming with all the hair like leaves floating. It was easily removed with a net. Stop growing it cos too too too much maintenance.
    Cheers!!
