Hi all, need to clarify some things here. Recently bought a chiller second hand. It was working well.( kick in normally for 15 mins and rest for more then 30 mins for a 2 feet tank. The chiller is hc-130a.) but recently I found that It will take more den 30 mins each cycle. Which is double the normal time needed. Ambient temp is around 28. I kept the temp at around 24. I have a infinite warranty. But I just would like to know what's the reason behind this? Gas used up or? Another question is where can I claim the warranty in Singapore? Tha LS alot folks for the time![]()

It's due to reduction of waterflow.
Clean your canister/pre-filter, 15mins will come back.
Thanks all. I don't think it's my flowrate. Called hailea distributer. Asked me to clean my chiller air filter, and wah la, back to 12 mins again![]()
you have to clean the mesh frequently like once every 2 weeks to prevent dust/hair to clog up the mesh.

Oh...didn't know that chiller needs DIY maintenance also.
its not maintenance proof. you need to flush the chiller with tap water once in a while too.

Are all these maintenance procedures documented in the manual?
hi bernie, just to share some of my experience with machines or devices like that, they don't have to be aquarium equipments. sometimes manuals don't state down certain things for us to follow and we learn from trial and error, just take a little bit more of initiative to do some cleaning even though we don't know if it helps or not but better safe than sorry.![]()

it is just like our home air con we have to clean the filter regularly too, not just wait for the maintenance guys to do it.
Also chiller should not have airflow restricted into the casing. Properly ventilated area. I had mine retrofit myself into a cabinet with an industrial blower extracting the hot air out with ventilation fins on the cabinet panel. Everytime the chiller runs, its just slight warm to a touch. its a 1/2 hp chiller by the way.
