Specific trimming method needed

Some advices from experienced planters needed. I have many species of tall growing plants, many of which have reached the surface. How do I trim the plants in such a way that the cut end will not branch out into more heads, ie. I only want a head growing rather than 2 or more from the cut end.

And what symptoms will I observe on my plants when there is a lack of CO2?

What do I replace the sector containing the carbon in my internal filter with after I remove it. Planning to use liquid fert soon.[:]

You can consider uproot the plants, cut off the roots end by a few inches then replant them lor. I have the same problem myself many of my Ludwigia became so mutated cos i trimmed from the top. But i find uprooting a real pain in the *** cos all the fertilizer as well as the nearby hairgrass all kena disturbed.

Stem plants? Cut and replant the top.

Anything depending on what you want to achieve. Either floss or ceramic rings or any other medium that BB can grow on.
