Chiller placed in the cupboard is not operating efficiently.
hi all,
i really want to change my old teco chiller cos it very hot and noisy ... any one have any experience with new teco or artica or even hailea for three feet tanks ... in term of heat and noise which one is better cos im putting it in a cupboard

Chiller placed in the cupboard is not operating efficiently.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.
The noise only happen when the compressor kick in. If the cupboard is fully enclosed, the hot air will be trap inside and you just wasting your electricity.
Do a comparison of memory in terms of heat generated from the first time you use the same chiller and present. If it is hotter than initially, you may want to check if filters/cooling coil is clogged with dirt/dust. For me, I do regular cleaning of air filter monthly to ensure best possible air flow within the chiller possible. Either that or your compressor is not working at optimum conditions as such, compressor is working harder and thus the heat generated.
Teco shouldnt be noisy. Maybe need some servicing or spare parts replacement

William
In my experience Artica chiller is less noisy than other brands but I personally find it a bit too large for my liking even so. Thinking of upgrading to a 1/2 or 1/3 hp chiller to reduce the kick-in time.
