What are the conditions needed for the red tiger lotus to grow well? Is it considered as a high light plant?

    Tks

I had it growing quite all right in a 4ft tank with only 4x36W. It also responds well to root feeding like inserting a bit of Jobe or Horti plant stick at its base.

Sorry to hijack this posting to ask my question, as it is related so here it goes.

Is there Red Lotus or all are red tiger? When I buy my lotus, they are plantets, and LFS boss say it is Red lotus. When it is bigger, I see some tiny dark specks on it's leaves. make me believe that it is indeed a tiger.

I maybe wrong, but depending on the price you paid is one indication whether is it Red Tiger or just the normal Red Lotus.

Red Lotus is much cheaper and one pot of "tubers" going for only like $2+/-. Red Lotus may have some dark spots when leaves get bigger, however for Red Tiger, you may get very deep purplish, red and other shades of red if its healthy, at least for my plant heehee.

Why not you take a picture to show us what you have, easier to ID this way.

Second hijacker here, where to get it? I haven't seen it in a long long time. Zenkeri red or green, also can.

Stressed, please recommend a place to host the picture. So far no luck with pic hosting and AQ cannot upload pics leh.

Me got my plantets at $4. 3 bigger ones with about 6 leaves and 2 tiny one with 4/2 leaves.

spilopterus, you want a couple of the lotus plantets? exchange for foreground plants.

Give you the bigger ones, now about 10 leaves stem 2inch max, quite compact, and confirm healthy.

    Daz,

Actually I think AQ can host pics but sorrie manz I also blur dont know how to upload pictures here too hahaha.

Alternative method to upload or have these hosted is via PBase which is FOC but only for 30days i reckon, alternatively you could do it through Singnet or Pacificnet if you are using the services as they provide some Mb for homepagee.
