i think the apistos are kind of difficult to identify. went there this morning hoping to get 2 pairs from 2 different species. but i realised that they looked quite the same to me, so i'm only able to tell the males from the females. in the end, Gan got a pair of, i think, A. Rotkeil for me. oh yah, maybe it's me but the new shrimps there looked like malayan shrimps to me..

anyway is this weekend's outing going to be an official one? hoping to go there again to get another pair or 2.

hi oqs, apisto r very difficult to id.. and yes, he may have some other breed in there as well.. we look thru books and site and the closest we got was the A. rotkeil (color, tail, high fin, shape)

this weekend is a gathering, nothing official.. we luv to get together and try to id new stocks

your idea about the networking for dwarf cichlids.IT would nice

] Francis, thanks for the encouragement. Actually, Apistos are really a special subject by its own. You know, so many different types of 'em and most times, they look so similar. Not easy, I tell you but definitely very challenging and enjoyable. When their colours come out, FWOAH, damn high man![

] Especially wild stocks, their colours are better than commercially bred ones, and sometimes, like lucky draw, never know what you're gonna get. Full of surprises! Maybe can see you tomorrow at Gan's?
