shrimp food

hi can anybody tell me whether i can just leave the shrimps in the tank and they will live off algae or anything else like wast or other micro organism they can find? thanks

i think would be better if you feed them instead of relying on them living off on algae. cheerios.

I believe the answer is yes. I believe the moss and micro organism in the tank is self sufficient as a food source. However the shrimp food that you buy in the market will have more nutrients and vitamins that is good to have for shrimps. Hope this help
