I set my chiller temp at 25C. Not long after cut off, the temperature will rise to 25.5C within minutes. The temperature will slowly rise to 25.8 and then takes a longer time to reach 25.9C. I am reading the temp from the chiller panel.

Does your Hailea behaves the same way? Do I need to install a external thermostat to have a more gradual temperature reading and hence the chiller kick in less often?

25 to 25.5 in few mins
    25.5 to 25.8 in ? mins?
    25.8 to 25.9 in ? mins?

how long it starts kick in again? ( from stop at 25 to start at 25.9? )

Depends on ambient temp. but usually the next kick in will be 1hr to 1hr15mins later.

I just want to know if its normal for the chiller to rise to 25.5C so fast. It's like after it chilled to 25C then quickly the temp rise to 25.5C

1hrs plus is normal, you need to worry when your chiller kick in every say 10 minutes or less

use your digital thermometer or normal thermometer to see the tank temperature then. you case maybe some thing wrong with the sensor. if not, your canister or pump might be causing a lot of heat. But dun worry if your chiller kicks in like 1 hour to 1 hour 15 mins la.

So I just ignore the temp. panel & listen to the kick in kick out sound instead.
Side track, the blue LED is so bright that it lit up my living room when lights out.

    Eviltrain

Yes my Hailea 300A behaves in same way. I set the temperature at 27 degree and it reaches to 27.5 within a minute and after that it takes atleast 20 to 30 minutes to reach 28 degree and then kick in.

The kick in period depends on how fast your aquarium gets warmed up due to ambient temperature irrespective of chiller capacity. Higher chilling power does not mean delayed kick in; but interval period between two kick in depends on how good your aquarium is insulated.
